The ANZCA ASM will be held from 03/5/2024 to 07/5/2024 (5 day event) at the Brisbane Convention Centre. The theme of the meeting is "Limitless".

ANZTADC will be running two workshops  W59 (Friday 3/5/24) and W83 (Friday 3/5/24) - Fix it Twice – An approach to achieve stronger solutions to prevent anaesthetic incidents. The workshops will use Bowtie analysis to analyse incidents from the webAIRS database. This will be followed by  proposals of methods to initially reduce the chance of another incident in the short term, together with discussion of stronger solutions to prevent similar incidents in the future.

On Sunday 5th May there will be a webAIRS 90 minute session CS14 - Cardiac arrests reported to webAIRS. This will present the recent findings of an analysis of 684 cses of cardiac arrest reported to webAIRS and compare and contrast our results with NAP 7.

The 2023 ASM will include both on-site and remote attendance options. We look forward to welcoming you at the Dunedin Centre to take advantage of the meeting and the networking opportunities.

The SPANZA 2023 Scientific Meeting will be will be held in our brand new facility Te Pae on the banks of the Avon River in the city centre. Our international invited speakers from North America along with Australian and NZ based speakers will provide an exciting program that will add to your knowledge, challenge your preconceptions and inspire you to optimise your provision of anaesthesia to children. 

ANZTADC/WebAIRS will be represented by a presenation at the SPANZA Reseach forum on Wednesday 25th October.

The ASA NSC 2023 will be held from 04/10/2023 to 08/10/2023 (5 day event) at the Melbourne Convention Centre.

ANZTADC will be running two workshops  WS15 (Thursday 5/10/23) and WS63 (Saturday 7/10/23) - Critical incident evaluation. The workshops will use Bowtie analysis to analyse incidents from the webAIRS database.

On Sunday 8/10/23 Dr Lan-Hoa Le will be using webAIRS data in a concurrent session regarding anaesthesia for bariatric surgery.

The theme for the meeting is Be connected , a positive and multifaceted theme representing our fellows, trainees and specialist international medical graduates who make challenging decisions every day, think collaboratively, keep up-to-date on the latest science, and advocate for the wellbeing of their colleagues, patients and themselves.

The meeting will be held at Sydney s environmentally sensitive International Convention Centre (ICC). The ICC Sydney features superb facilities, beautiful contemporary design, and spectacular views of Darling Harbour with the cityscape beyond.

ANZTADC is currently planning sessions involving webAIRS incident data with the conference convenors.

The WebAIRS incident reporting system has now reached over 10,000 reports submitted, from 2009 onwards   and a summary was presented at the recent Combined Scientific Congress in Wellington (CSC - October 2022) in a webAIRS 90-minute session. Following an overview of the first 10000 reports, the detailed results of an analysis of the medication errors were presented and then finally the Advisory Notices to Anaesthetists (ANA) were described, ANA is a recent application released on the webAIRS website. These presentations are still available for delegates who registered for the meeting on the virtual CSC 2022 meeting website.   

A webAIRS interactive workshop showed how to use webAIRS for local audits and local morbidity and mortality meetings, while maintaining anonymity at a national level. CPD credits are currently acquired at two credits per hour in the category of practice evaluation.

The Aotearoa NZ ASM which was to be held in Te Pae, Christchurch from 27 - 30 October 2021 has been converted to a virtual event. As the WebAIRS Presentation was to have been presented as part of a live Quality Assurance case discussion, this session in the meeting has been cancelled. There is a new feature that has been added to webAIRS known as Advisory Notices to Anaesthetists, which has similar cases to review and is available to logged in webAIRS users.

The ASA NSC has combined with the Queensland ACE meeting and will be held in Brisbane from 23rd to the 25th July 2021. WebAIRS will present a 90 minute Quality Assurance session based on the webAIRS data.

This On Demand Session will be along the format of a session with three speakers seen at previous ASMs. The theme will be the analysis of almost 9,000 anaesthetic incident reports with topics including not only emergency crises that arise during anaesthesia, but also Assessment, Documentation, Infrastructure and System incidents. The session will show how to formally analyse incidents using Bowtie Diagrams as well as the WebAIRS Anaesthetic Alerts features which provide rapid feedback to users of the system. As well as the topics mentioned earlier there will also be Bowtie Diagrams to illustrate the management of difficult airways, anaphylaxis, and COVID-19.

The Australian Society of Anaesthetists and New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists Combined Scientific Congress will be held from the 16th-19th October 2020 at the TSB Arena, Wellington. There will be a webAIRS Session with three presenters and a Masterclass. Registration will open in April-May 2020.

Unfortunately the ANZCA ASM in Perth has been cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 restrictions. The sessions will be postponed until the ANZCA ASM in 2021. It is planned to have a webAIRS Session with three presenters, and also a Masterclass. More details about the program will be available on the ANZCA meeting website around 6 months before the meeting date.

The Australian Society of Anaesthetists Nastional Scientific Congress will be held from the 20th-24th September 2019 at the International Convention Centre Sydney. There will be a webAIRS Session with three presenters and a Masterclass. ASA Registration opens from the 2nd April.

he New Zealand ASM is joining this year with the Annual Queenstown Update in Anaesthesia (AQUA) to provide a stimulating conference in one of the worlds alpine wonderlands. The theme is Aspirations into Action. WebAIRS have offered to present. The venue for Combined NZ Anaesthesia ASM + AQUA is the Millennium and Copthorne Hotels, Queenstown. August 21–24 2019.

Australian Anaesthetic Safety - Are we getting better? This presentation will briefly cover anaesthetic safety from the 18 hundreds to this millenium and then look at the reecent advannces and how further improvements might be made.

The ANZCA ASM will be in Kuala Lumpur commencing on April 29th 2019. Immediately prior to the ASM the Airway SIG meeting will be held commencing on the 27th April. Data collected using webAIRS will be presented at both the Airway SIG and the ANZCA ASM. In addition a webAIRS Masterclass will be held during the ASM. The NZ Anaesthesia ASM 2018 will be held at the Cordis Hotel Auckland from the 8th to the 10th of Novemeber. The meeting, ‘Face the Future’, is intended to inspire new ideas and equip you with new skills. The committee state that "We are planning an excellent scientific programme that will review current and future anaesthetic techniques, research, drugs and equipment. We also aim to enlighten delegates with guidance and resources for a sustainable working life." WebAIRS has offered to present at the meeting using data from the webAIRS incident database.
